‘Professor Pink’ is a stunning original artwork by contemporary artist Tim Christie.
Acrylic on canvas
This striking piece is part of Tim Christie’s ‘Monomoko’ collection, inspired by Maori moko design.
“I wanted a name to associate with this particular body of work. MONOMOKO is a conjoined word that connects two different but related things. It refers to the mostly ‘monochromatic’ colouring of the work and the graphic symmetry of traditional Māori ‘moko’, beautiful indigenous tattoo art from New Zealand, typically applied to the face. The rhythm of the word also felt particularly fitting for the patterned feel of my artwork.” – Tim Christie
