‘Six Million Dollar Man’ was inspired by a small ad Simon Kirk saw when he was younger, advertising a second hand action figure for sale: ‘6 Million Dollar Man – £3’. It greatly amused him at the time, and this memory came back to him when he was in the middle of working on the piece. This is a bionic man for our more austere times.
