JOURNEYS INTO COLOUR

Abstract painter & printmaker, Charlotte Cornish has put together a collection of new works to show throughout October at Turner Barnes Gallery, in Shenfield.

With an outstanding art background, studying at two of the top art schools in the UK, Slade School of Art & Central St Martins, London. Charlotte is one of the UK’s leading contemporary abstract artists.

This body of work has been inspired by her recent travels where Charlotte has been influenced by the beautiful colours she experienced along the way. Through her strong energetic mark making, Charlotte explores the world through colour and line.

‘I have always found inspiration from places I have visited. I often use photographs as an initial starting point for my compositions, but my paintings are not representations of places, but a mixture of elements from the seen world, and my own emotional responses and experience.’

The use of the strong, vibrant colours lifts your mood and brings amazing light into any space.

Charlotte is based in Cambridge. She has exhibited widely in the UK and worldwide and has work in numerous corporate and private collections.

“I was particularly drawn to this collection or work to show at my gallery because of the earthy pinks and olives, these are unusual colours to see in abstract work but they bring a sense or warmth and softness to great pieces of contemporary painting” said Soo Turner, owner of Turner Barnes Gallery

There will be a collection of large original paintings, framed works and prints on show and available to buy at the Shenfield Gallery and online at www.turnerbarnesgallery.com
