Henrietta Stuart studied BA Fine Art at Newcastle University, where she graduated in 1988 with a 1st Class degree.

Henrietta Stuart lived and painted in Marseilles, France from 1988-92. She returned to the UK and worked in the Chiswick Studios (1993-97) and the Chertsey Studios (1997-2003). Between 2003-11 she made the Languedoc, France, her home. During my time living in France, Henrietta spent time travelling and working in Greece staying on the island of Ithaca for two prolonged periods.
Henrietta Stuart returned to the UK in 2011 and settled in West London where she now has a studio in Wimbledon. She has been happily there ever since.

Henrietta Stuart’s works are to be found in collections in New York, Houston, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Paris as well as the UK.

“I have stayed in many places including periods in Australia, Greece, India, Africa and lived in France. Over the years and the many countries I have experienced it has always been the landscape and the light that have captured my imagination. My recent works are inspired by, the southern coast of England, and the west coast of Scotland. The Scottish weather that changes dramatically from one moment to the next to the softer breezes and calm of the West Sussex coast, long walks with my dogs, boat trips to the islands and hours spent simply looking at the British landscape. My latest pieces explore the flow of colour between land, sea and sky.
I draw and paint, thinking constantly of the landscape. Painting in situ or back in the studio. I am fascinated by colour, form and light and believe, as Morandi, that
“There is nothing more abstract than the visible world” “ HENRIETTA STUART
